Basic Questions
- Why are you telling me to clear my cache?
A browser cache is a temporary storage location on your computer where your web browser stores various types of data such as web page elements, images, scripts, and other resources that are downloaded from the internet.
When you visit a website, your browser will store some of its content in the cache so that if you visit the site again, the browser can load it more quickly from the cache instead of having to download it from the web server all over again.
The browser cache can help to speed up your browsing experience, as it reduces the time required to load web pages. However, over time, the cache can become filled with outdated or unnecessary data, which can slow down your browser and even cause problems with certain websites. This is why it’s recommended to periodically clear your browser cache to free up space and ensure that your browser is functioning properly.
The process of clearing your browser’s cache may vary slightly depending on which browser you are using, but the general steps are as follows:
Google Chrome:
- Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
- Select “More tools” from the dropdown menu.
- Select “Clear browsing data” from the submenu.
- Choose the time range for which you want to clear the cache.
- Check the box next to “Cached images and files.”
- Click “Clear data.”
Mozilla Firefox:
- Click on the three lines in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
- Select “Options” from the dropdown menu.
- Click on “Privacy & Security” on the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down to the “Cookies and Site Data” section.
- Click “Clear Data.”
- Check the box next to “Cached Web Content.”
- Click “Clear.”
Microsoft Edge:
- Click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window.
- Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.
- Click on “Privacy, search, and services” on the left-hand menu.
- Under “Clear browsing data,” click “Choose what to clear.”
- Check the box next to “Cached images and files.”
- Click “Clear now.”
Safari:
- Click on “Safari” in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
- Select “Preferences” from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the “Advanced” tab.
- Check the box next to “Show Develop menu in menu bar.”
- Close the Preferences window.
- Click on “Develop” in the menu bar.
- Select “Empty Caches.”
- It says the post is Restricted
You may from time to time you may see that a post is restricted and you need to login to view. If you are seeing this on any page OTHER THAN the login page you will need to login.

- I’m Having Issues
If you are seeing random notices, errors, or content isn’t appearing to have updated it could be a caching issue.
When you visit a website data is stored on your computer to make the website speedy on each visit. This is great except when updates are made to the website. To get around this you can manually clear the cache on your web browser by following the steps on this website.
This fixes 9/10 issues. If you continue to have problems please contact us.

- Why Can’t I Access Some Content?
As of June 1, 2022 we have officially “secured the gates”. Member only content is now secured behind a login page and you must be a current member of Daughters of the Nile in order to obtain an invite code and register for an account.
Temple specific Invite Codes will be dispersed to subordinate Temple Princesses Recorder the week of July 4, 2022. Please contact your Princess Recorder after this to obtain your Invite Code.
Any new members who join Daughters of the Nile will use their Temple invitation code and this should be supplied by Princess Recorder as part of the new member packets.
Account
- Can’t Login After Creating an Account
- Check your email for a confirmation email from hello@daughtersofthenile.org
- Open the email and click on the confirmation link inside. This confirms your email address and is the final step before logging into your account.
- If you’ve checked your email and there is no confirmation email please check your SPAM folder.
- If you’re unable to locate the confirmation email please try registering again. Odds are something didn’t go through.
- Can’t Access Create Account Page
If you are seeing an error when trying to register your account please try clearing the cache on your device.

Try another device like your mobile phone with the Wifi turned off using mobile data.
Wait 24 hours and try again.
- How do I Reset my Password?
You can reset your password by clicking this link https://daughtersofthenile.org/forgotpassword/
Enter the email address used to register your account. If a user matching that email address is found you will receive an email within 10 mins that includes steps to reset your passwords.
If a matching user is not found you will need to enter the email again (typos happen) or try another email address you used to register.
It’s possible that you also haven’t registered for the site yet.
