Imagine being a child, trapped in a wheelchair.  Imagine being limited to visit only the places where someone can push your chair for the rest of your life.  Now….imagine flying down the ski slopes with the cool air rushing against your cheeks and feeling that freedom that only speed and the snow can give you.  The children that we support at Shriners Hospital for Children – Portland, can have that exhilaration of skiing because there is an adaptive ski program there.  But, the special equipment to make that possible is very expensive.  Thanks to your donations and generosity at the Raindrops and Roses North/West Daze weekend (2019), Nydia Temple No. 4, through the Daughters of the Nile Foundation, have been able to purchase a Tessier Temp Bi Ski (see picture below) for the Shriners Hospital for Children – Portland Adaptive Ski Program.  So, next time you look at our beautiful snow covered Mt. Hood, imagine a wheelchair bound child experiencing the freedom of skiing and remember how blessed we are to be able to make a change in a child’s life.

Thank you so much for your continued Nile Love,

PQ Judy Smith and Pr Royal, Holly Austin – your  North/West Daze Co-chairs.
